Austin's big music event, SXSW, starts next Wednesday thru Sunday. With that brings a shit load of bands. The Goat (Reynolds, Spanky...) are playing and rolling thru with some of the Altamont guys.

No Comply will have a signing on Thursday, March 19 at 3pm. All Altamont gear will be 15% off too. Come out and maybe you can get your titty signed by Slash, Theotis Beasley, Justin Figueroa, Kenny Hoyle, Sammy Baca, Bryan Herman, or Garrett Hill.

So I have a 'zine going with my pal Shawn Rylander (Disposable Camera). It's called, Karate Foot. Skateboarding, art, text message interviews and other things fun to look at when sitting on the toilet. Here's the blog we have going. R.I.P. Ray

Ray Underhill spent the past two years battling a Chordoma brain tumor. After surgery, and several radiation and chemotherapy treatments, Ray passed away on Friday morning, August 1, 2008.

If you don't know your skate history or it was long before your time, Ray was part of the Powell Bones Brigade back in the late '80's.

Your Austin weekend

Friday night at the The Broken Neck you can skate the ramp, BYOB and check out Vol.4 of the UnderSkatement films which are short films by skaters. They have been touring since December and this is the only Texas stop so check it out.

And Saturday, you can brave the 100 degree heat and sit unshaded at Mabel Davis and check out Toad & Salmon's Bowl Contest and Chili Cook Off that Thrasher's putting on. Or you can check out the Greenbelt because I hear it's already in full affect.

Sunday, I'd recommend the Greenbelt again.
